Scott P. Buckley, Mortuary Manager

Scott has worked in funeral service in the San Francisco Bay area since 1983. The Massachusetts native is a member of North Creek Church and plays drums in a band. He is a Cal Bear baseball supporter and has coached youth sports, such as baseball, football and CYO basketball. Scott is married to Kriste and has three children and two Jack Russell dogs.

Tom Richards, Crematory Manager & Embalmer

Tom has been in funeral service in Northern California since 1977, with his expertise being in embalming and restorative arts. In addition to being a funeral director, he also serves Oakmont as the prep-room supervisor, crematory operator and funeral arranger. He has been married for over 30 years and in his free time he enjoys playing guitar and keyboards in a band.

Michael Trolan, Funeral Arranger & Embalmer

Michael began his mortuary and funeral career in 1985, and still enjoys caring for families in the most compassionate and respectful way possible. The
Southern California native spent most of his life in San Gabriel Valley, and now resides in the East Bay area. He has three grown children and one grandson, and enjoys beach camping, hiking, cycling, watching old movies from the 1940s, and spending time with family and friends.

Phillip Schaffer, Funeral Arranger

Phillip has served families at Oakmont since 2010, but has worked in the funeral industry throughout the East Bay area since 1994. His goal is to treat every family with the highest respect and consideration. He and his wife reside in Antioch, attend The Fathers House in Vacaville, and enjoy outings together with their dog to beaches, restaurants and trips to flea markets.

Beatriz Somoza, Arranger / Director Assistant

Beatriz graduated from San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 2000, and likes that her work in funeral service allows her to help families and community. She is the proud mother of two daughters, both of whom have served in the United States Army. In her free time, Beatriz enjoys sewing and crafts.

Kate Lane, Family Service Consultant

Kate recently transferred from Los Angeles to Lafayette. She has years of experience in the death care industry and considers it a privilege to assist families prior to their time of need. She is an avid reader and enjoys reading anything to do with world religions and death care. She also enjoys both documentary films, all things Disney, soccer and live theater.

Theresa Montero, Funeral Administrator

Theresa has been with Oakmont Mortuary since 1999. She has a daughter and recently learned that her grandfather was employed here back in the 1950s as a groundskeeper. In her spare time she enjoys fishing and spending time with her family in the mountains.

Lisa Horton, Decedent Affairs Clerk

Lisa came to Oakmont in 2010 after previously owning a custom framing business for 12 years. A lifelong Diablo Valley resident, she is a graduate of College Park High School and a member of Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill. She and her husband have twin teenagers - one boy and one girl. She enjoys exercising, art, and the mountains.

Chandra Wilson, Receptionist

Chandra came to Oakmont with a vast customer service background, and she enjoys serving the needs of our families. She has worked as a florist and as a licensed esthetician. A devout christian, she is the married mother of a grown daughter.

Stacey Cross, Weekend Receptionist

Cheryl Nickerson, Funeral Assistant

Cheryl graduated with a master’s in spirituality from Holy Names University in 2014. She loves working at Oakmont and her favorite part of her role is serving families and seeing them connect, sometimes after not seeing one another for an extended period. She lives with her husband, son and daughter and two beloved dogs in Concord. In her spare time, she is a girls’ soccer coach and also is involved in the Boy Scouts and her children's PTA.

Tabatha Mardon, Funeral Assistant

Tabatha began working in funeral service in 2014 and joined the Oakmont Mortuary staff in 2016. She is the mother to four wonderful children and enjoys cooking, baking, sketching, cleaning, and outdoor activities in her free time.

Diana Rentz, Receptionist / Clerk

Diana joined the staff in 2011 with experience in the legal field. Since 1998, she has lived in the Walnut Creek area where she attends a local church and enjoys doing volunteer work. The Chicago native was raised in Southern California and previously worked for LA County District Attorney's Office, the California Institute of Technology and an engineering firm. She enjoys reading mysteries.
