I had the privilege of attending a truly beautiful and unique event at Oakmont cemetery. This event was dedicated to Dia de los Muertos, also known as the day of the dead. One of the highlights was a special altar where we could place photos of our loved ones who had passed away. It felt like a celebration of life for my dear father in heaven.

The performers at the event were absolutely wonderful and brought so much joy to everyone in attendance. The food was delicious, and the highlight of the evening was the mesmerizing ceremonial Aztec dancers. They prayed, chanted, bowed, prostrated, and danced in their shamanic way to honor our loved ones. It was a truly moving experience.

The atmosphere at Oakmont was clean and safe, and it was heartwarming to see such amazing events being organized for families. I would like to extend my gratitude to the host and coordinator of the event, Marilu Chan. Your calm and collected leadership was truly admirable.

There are no words to express how Brenda took care of everything on the cemetery side for us!! She made a very bad situation seem doable! She will forever be a person that is High on my List of people who care more than you could imagine! Thank you for taking care of my Gram! ❤️

My father Sripati Bhattacharyya passed away early morning on Sunday November 1st. Having never dealt with a death right in our own home, my mother and I had to quickly figure out funeral planning that was also in line with our Hindu tradition of cremation. So we went through a list of funeral homes in the area that did cremation. After many calls, it was obvious that Oakmont really stood out in terms of service and responsiveness. Beatriz was our initial contact and took the time to explain the various price packages and made recommendations on what would be best suited for our needs. She also took the time to explain the various logistics, such as the details of obtaining death certificates, which were unknown to us. These things were taken care of in a timely manner.
Furthermore, we went in person the day before the cremation to finalize logistics. At that time we met with Phillip, who was truly extraordinary. He demonstrated such compassion and care, taking the time to answer every question we had while showing genuine sensitivity for our loss. Also, as the cremation took place in the era of COVID, we were comforted by the COVID restrictions to ensure the safety of those who chose to attend our socially distanced, limited service.
The day of the open casket and cremation went so smoothly. The flower arrangement as part of our package was simply stunning, as was the casket. Phillip and the staff were attentive and respectful. The embalming was excellently done, making my father look natural and peaceful. The location of Oakmont was also exquisite. The crematorium was conveniently located on the same grounds, so it was a short walk from the area of the open-casket.
I commend Oakmont for making such a painful milestone into a beautiful, compassionate, and seamless experience for my family. We were treated with great respect and guidance. We highly recommend Oakmont mortuary for anyone needing funeral services.

I want to thank you for the wonderful help you were to our family upon the passing of our Mom, Helen Kjelland. The service was lovely and we appreciated your skills in guiding us in our decisions at a difficult time.
