Tribute

Ali Ensani, 92, united with almighty on June 21, 2021, at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, California after a short respiratory battle.

He decided to be an engineer after studying medicine and realizing the medical practice is mostly about engineering technology and equipment. He was an inventor and loved helping humankind. His heart had a special place for all creatures of the world from cats and birds to insects!

Ali had an incredible intellect and a photographic memory. He remembered many poems by heart and recited them to the last weeks of his life. He also wrote poetry.

His main accomplishment as a hobby was music. He was a concert-level classical Persian violinist.

Ali Ensani lost his first wife, and mother of his children, to breast cancer in 1977, in Oakland, California. He remarried in 1979 and lost his second wife to stroke in 2006. He was a kind and loving partner to both spouses and took amazing care of them during their illnesses. He emanated love and his whole life was about that.

He leaves behind three daughters and three sons-in-law, a grand-daughter and many nieces and nephews.

One of Ali Ensani’s biggest accomplishments was being a father. His whole life was dedicated to making sure he was never a burden to his three daughters. He was a great cook, and they gathered for lunch at his house on Saturdays for a fun family time. The daughters called their dad the GENIUS as he was one!

He instilled in them the love of literature, reading, poetry, social justice and above all music.

He believed every child must learn to read music and play a musical instrument. His favorite saying was the quote from the German Poet Goethe: “Music begins where words end”!

His house was always filled with the sound of world music.

He loved life, greeted everyone with boisterous joy and reveled at simple things like feeding his cats and birds, walking in his backyard at dawn, and having afternoon teas.

His curiosity with language was evident in his knowing Persian, English and German.
