Arthur “Art” Loren Hoover
December 9, 1946 – August 12, 2021
Resident of Oakley, CA
Art Hoover passed away at his home on Thursday, August 12th, 2021, at the age of 74, after a valiant five-year battle with Mesothelioma. He showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile, he stayed strong until the end. He was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather, who loved his family dearly.
Art was born in San Leandro, CA to his parents Rosemary and Arthur Hoover Sr., where he attended San Lorenzo High School.
At a young age he raced flat track motorcycles and built hotrods which later became a focal point of his life.
Representing Local 342, he worked more than 45 years as a leader in the HVAC Mechanical industry. Art was highly respected in the industry and enjoyed discussing his work with his peers.
Over the years he worked in his hot rod shop, collecting and fixing cars. He was passionate about his 1932 highboy which he drove around the country with the Danville Dukes. He would often tell stories about his club friends, show pictures of the “Rod-Runs” and Car-Shows he attended. He always looked forward to meeting with his club friends and talking about their latest projects.
Art is survived by his wife Patty, his two sons Steven and Art, their spouses Laura and Tiffany, daughter Lisa, grandchildren Amber and Brandon, brothers Randy and Bruce. We will always love and miss him.
In Loving Memory
