Tribute

Brian John Blomquist, 58, of Martinez California died unexpectedly and peacefully at his home on Feb 13, 2021.
Brian was born November 8th, 1962 in Sacramento California to John and Kay (Soderstrom) Blomquist

He attended Miramonte High School in Orinda , Ca. He continued his education at California Polytechnic State University, graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and maintained his professional engineering license. Brian spent his career at Chevron Corporation for 33 years in oil and gas at the Richmond refinery and he was well respected as a leader and mentor to many in the industry.

Brian loved fishing and boating, traveling and music, and good pizza. Brian had chosen to retire from Chevron 6 weeks before his death to spend more time with his family and hobbies he loved. He was a faithful believer in our God and Savior Jesus Christ, and an active member of Creekside Church in Martinez, devoting many hours to be part of the worship team. He loved and lived with great caretaking, abundance and generosity to others and he (and his Bear-hugs) will be missed by many dear friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father (John Hanford Blomquist) and is survived by his life love, Jeannette Blomquist, daughter Jonay Garcia, grandson, Rico Garcia, mother Kay (Soderstrom) Blomquist,  siblings and their spouses, Michael and Leslie Blomquist,  Stacy (Blomquist) and Michael Bichl, many fond nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
