Bud "Dog" Turner

Bud “Dog” Turner, age 84, passed away from heart failure on September 3rd, 2020 with his wife by his side. He graduated from Acalanes High School in Lafayette in 1953. He did two separate stints in the Army in the 101st Airborne. Bud was a soils engineer for Engeo for 27 years and retired in 1998. He married Joan on May 25th, 1965 and they had 4 children.
Bud loved football and was asked to join his friend from high school, Mike White, at a Cal game in 1970. Bud loved it so much he volunteered for many years until they finally asked him to become part of the staff. He worked with the football team for 50 years attending every practice, meeting and game until his death this year. He loved working with the students and formed many lifelong friendships over the years.
Bud is survived by his wife, Joan, his daughter Kim Ecklin (husband Kurt), daughter Kristi Andreatta (husband Steve) and son Kurt Turner (wife Wendy). He has seven grandchildren: Justin, Brianna, Amanda, Kylie, Ashley, Nicholas, and Emily. He was proceeded in death by his parents Cyril and Ethel Turner, his brother Del and his daughter Tracy.
