It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Wayne Meredith. He was born March 3, 1943 in Omaha, NE and passed peacefully in his home on May 27, 2020 in Concord, CA. All who knew Dennis will remember his big grin and his love of telling jokes (some very badly). His family relocated to Richmond, CA in 1955. That is where he met his wife, Colleen. Dennis and Colleen moved to Concord, CA in 1966.
Dennis proudly served in the Vietnam War as a radio operator. Upon return, he worked for almost 50 years as a retail clerk and truly enjoyed his daily interactions with his customers.
He was a sports fan. He loved professional sports, especially football and baseball, as well as coaching his children’s teams. We are unsure how the A’s and 49ers will be able to continue their seasons without Dennis’ expert coaching from his recliner!
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Colleen. He will be remembered fondly by his children; Steven and Stacey, his grandchildren; Cody, Dalton, Annalise, and Nash, and his great grandson; Greyson.
Each time we pose for a family photo, Dennis will be remembered, as we will all hear his voice say “mozzarella” instead of “cheese!”
We invite family and friends to join us at the Meredith home on August 29th, 2020 from 4-7 to celebrate and remember Dennis!
