Eileen Therese Clair Moore
October 28, 1949 – July 7, 2022
New Braunfels, Texas

Eileen Moore, age 72, passed on July 7, 2022, after fighting many years of medical issues. She was always a survivor against staunch odds. She finally hit her 9th life, and answered the call to join God, her mom and dad, and love of her life, Ran, in Heaven. She was ready and she was at peace.

Eileen was born in St. Albans, New York, to Margaret Loudine and James Clement Clair, and was the third of eight children. Her father, Jim, had a career in the Air Force, and the Clair family was stationed in Europe, Asia, and the United States. These experiences played an important role in her life and contributed to her outgoing personality.

Known as fiercely independent, smart, and a natural leader, those who knew her well, would say, “she was always right, always had a plan, and Eileen was going to do what Eileen wanted to do.”

Being with family and moving around was part of this independence. She knew she could figure anything out on her own. When the family moved to San Antonio, it became her home for the next 50+ years.

Eileen attended The University of the Incarnate Word, and became a Registered Nurse, specializing in cardiac surgery, including transplants and by-pass surgeries.  Eileen found this work rewarding and always had a desire to continue her education. This goal was not possible due to health issues; however, she always kept up with the latest advancements.

It was also in San Antonio that she met Randy Moore, husband of nearly 49 years, and settled down.  They had 3 children and 4 grandchildren. Eileen loved sports and was active in both of her sons’ soccer leagues and enjoyed cheering her daughter’s tennis matches.

Eileen will be greatly missed by her children: Chris (Marcella), Michael, Lisa (Alexander), her grandchildren: Sara and Aimee Becker, Benjamin and Maddie Ellingsen, and her siblings:  Jim (Sandy) Clair, Bob (Joyce) Clair, Tom (Debbie) Clair, Pat Clair, Margaret (Bob) Meeder, and Chris Clair, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and best friend, Carla Bernholtz.

There will be a funeral mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, Texas on Thursday, July 21 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities at https://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/
