Ether Mae Center
September 28, 1934 - August 9, 2020
Ether Mae Center lived to be 85 Years young.
She was born in Texarkana Texas and migrated at a young age to Berkeley, California.
It was at Berkeley High School where she met and later married her sweetheart Charles Center
to which five children were born of their union.
Claudette (deceased), Kevin (Pamela), Roshell (Stephen), Rolanda (Eddie) and
Keith (Delina).
Ether worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years before
retiring as a General Supervisor, as well as an extremely active
member of the National Association of Postal Supervisors for
which she held various offices both locally and statewide.
She was integral in organizing many of their Conventions and Bus Trip fundraisers for College Scholarships.
Active in her church and it many auxiliaries, watching and attending sporting events, traveling, decorating for the
holidays and feeding friends, family and the neighborhood were some of joys of her life.
She never met a stranger and all were welcomed to her home and table.
In addition to her children, Ether leaves to mourn her passing four sisters Trudie Turner (Fred), Christeena Edge, Erma Dixon and
Mildred Penn-Lee. 11 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and many Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, and a host of extended
family and friends.
