Everett E. Della Rosa

January 21, 1930 – June 9, 2022

Everett Della Rosa passed away on the evening of June 9, 2022, at his home in the presence of family. Everett was born on January 21, 1930, to parents Eugene and Mable Della Rosa in Martinez, California. He attended school in Martinez, graduating from Alhambra High School in 1948.  Later, he joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War (1952-1953).  After retuning to Martinez, he married Norma Jean Dickerson and started working as a truck driver for his father’s company.  They had two daughters, Gwen and Lori.  In 1961, he and his brothers opened their own trucking company, Della Rosa Brothers Trucking, Inc.  He retired from the trucking business in 1989.  He remained active in the Martinez community and was a member of several clubs and organizations.  Everett and Norma enjoyed seeing new places whether traveling with their trailer or overseas cruising through Europe.

Everett is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Mable, brothers Eugene Jr., Louis, and William, sister Rosalee Hardin and grandson Joey Garcia.  He is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years Norma, daughters, Gwen Della Rosa Winters (William) and Lori Eddy (Stephen), grandchildren Nicole Fry (Luke), Janelle Winters (Russell), Jennifer DeMartile (Rick) and Grant Eddy. Five great grandchildren Gianna, Stella, Grayson, Millie and Kiah.

Services are scheduled for July 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Oakmont Memorial Cemetery (Redwood Chapel) 2099 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette, CA.  Followed by a Celebration of Life starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Pacheco Community Center, 5800 Pacheco Blvd., Pacheco, CA.
