Fredrick (Fred) William Howard

Fredrick William Howard (who most knew as Fred) was born in Concord, California on April 7, 1966 along with his twin brother Frank to parents, Harry Howard MD and Sybil Schellhase Howard MD. Fred passed away suddenly on October 20, 2022 in Moraga, California. He was 56 years old.

Fred spent his entire life in Contra Costa County. He grew up in Danville, attending Montair Elementary School and later, Seven Hills School in Walnut Creek.  He attended Charlotte Wood Middle School and graduated from San Ramon Valley High School, in Danville, CA in 1984. He received his AA degree at Diablo Valley College in Concord, CA and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University in 1990. He worked in manufacturing and computer hardware and car/motorcycle repair.

Fred loved spending time with his twin brother Frank who was was steadfastly with him for his entire life’s journey. He loved camping and spending time outside appreciating nature, barbecuing tri tip and listening to music, especially rock and roll. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his many friends and dining on fish and chips. He loved cars, motorcycles and could be seen with Frank of late riding their electric bicycles around Orinda and Moraga. 

We will miss Fred for his jovial nature, engaging laugh and sweet smile.The impression he made on this world will not be forgotten. He is

survived by his twin brother, Frank Howard of Orinda, his sister, Jeanette Howard Rasmussen and her husband, Gregg Rasmussen, nephews Luke and Jack Rasmussen of Los Gatos and his many friends, cousins and family. He is predeceased by his father, Harry Emerson Howard, MD and his mother Sybil Jean Schellhase Howard MD of Danville with whom he was extremely close.

Services to honor Fred’s life will be held at Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd. Lafayette, CA 84549. on Friday, November 11, 2022. 

 Visitation will be held at 10 am in the Redwood Chapel and a Graveside Service will take place at 11 am in the Garden of Harmony immediately following.
