Grace Calderwood, 83, passed away January 13, 2021 with family by her side.
Our dear Auntie Grace was born to George and Grace Calderwood June 18, 1937 in
Long Beach, CA. She is survived by her brother-in-law Robert G. Wells, MD (Mary
Calderwood Wells, predeceased), niece Juli Safer (husband Jon), nephews David
Wells, DPM (wife Sissy) and Stephen Wells, MD (wife Teresa), whom she looked upon as her own children, and 5 grandnieces and grandnephew, who also referred to her with great affection as “Auntie Grace”. She will dearly be missed by her family
and her friends.
Auntie Grace graduated from Wilson High School and later received her B.S. degree
from University of Redlands. She enjoyed a very long and successful career as an export manager and administrative secretary for Grant Oil and Tool.
In 1998, she moved up to Danville, CA to live closer to her beloved sister and family. She remained an integral part of our family and community, enjoying vacations and small get-togethers with both her dear friends and us. She especially enjoyed travel to visit her beloved Scotland. Auntie Grace was involved in her Church and Focused Living group. She also enjoyed serving as Correspondence Secretary of her P.E.O Chapter RV organization in Danville along with the PEO chapter she joined with her mom in Long Beach. She was also actively involved with many animal advocacy groups.
