Helen Humble Doyle

Helen passed away peacefully at home at the age of 97. She was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. During World War II. She was Secretary to the Head of the Naval Supply Depot. When the war ended Helen transferred to Unemployment Commission as a Court Reporter.

 

Helen met her first husband, William H. Humble, at an Engineer's Ball. He had just graduated as an Electrical Engineer, with her brother, from the University of British Columbia. They were married in 1949 and moved to San Francisco. After a couple of years in San Francisco they moved to Orinda. Helen worked as an Executive Secretary for Moore Business Forms. She left the business World to raise her family. Bill and Helen had two daughters, Carol and Gail.

 

Bill passed away in May of 1999 and Helen moved to Rossmoor in Walnut Creek. In 2001 she met Donald D. Doyle. Don was in the California Assembly in the 1950s before there was a 680 Freeway. He worked very hard to get the freeway built. He was honored for his work in the Assembly by having his name on the 680 Freeway between Walnut Creek and Dublin. Don passed away in January of 2011. Helen then moved into her Waterford home in Rossmoor.

 

Helen was a women of great style and dearly loved her family. She is survived by her daughters, Carol M. Humble M.D., Gail M. Humble, M.D. and son-in-law Bradford Hack M.D. Four granddaughters, Alexandra and Nicole Hack and Morgan Daffin and Katarina Hilton. She is also survived by her stepson Donald D. Doyle, Jr., his wife Arlene Doyle, step granddaughter Kristine Doyle and two step grandsons Mathew Doyle and Patrick Doyle, three great grandsons Cameron, Dempsey and Aiden Doyle and one great granddaughter Mila Doyle.

 

The family will celebrate Helen's life with a small private ceremony.
