James Vincent Anthony DeArmond (“Vince”) was born May 2, 1963, to Anthony (Tony) Torres, and Marie (Mary) DeArmond in California, He was the third of four boys born of Mary DeArmond and had 10 siblings. The oldest sibling was an adopted-out son, followed by Johnny, Liz, Joanne, Roque, Greta, Sara, Russell, Chris and Anthony.
After graduating from Chehalis High School, he joined the Army. He was stationed in Germany for his two years in the Army. He enjoyed his two years in Germany, exploring Europe while serving his country.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he moved to Berkeley, California, where he met the love of his life, and wife, L. Leann Parker. They were together for more than 30 years and loved to spend 24/7/365 together. They also adored their fur babies over the years including the cats; “Nothing” (his real name), Babin, Dwinky, GubGub, Pinkus, Motai, and LeeWang; and the dogs; Foffie and Bunny. Vince and Leann loved snowshoeing, archery, camping, golfing, bird watching, and hiking/walking with their dogs.
Vince was a life-long motorcyclist, and made many motorcycle trips with his wife, friends and/or family. Vince had a quirky sense of humor, as friends and family can vouch for. He loved to cook and experiment with different types of cuisines. It became a tradition with friends to enjoy Mexican Friday and Sunday brunch.
Vince was a loving husband, uncle, fur father, nephew, cousin, and fur father. He will be deeply missed and we will cherish our memories with him.
In lieu of flowers, Vince has requested you make donations to Fix Our Ferals at https://fixourferals.org/ or Berkeley Humane at https://berkeleyhumane.org/
