Jeanette Eva Roeschen, age 99, of Lafayette and Orinda, passed away the morning of April19, 2021, at her residence in American Canyon.
She was born October 17, 1921, in Saskatchewan, Canada and was the daughter of the late David and Donia Beaudoin who emigrated in 1924 making their home Lake Grove, Oregon.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Charles Roeschen, her daughter Dolores Nielsen, and her son Charlie Roeschen. She was a founding member of St. Perpetua Catholic Church, a homemaker, and a nanny to many prominent families in Lamorinda, Piedmont and Oakland from 1956 - 1989. In her later years she enjoyed social clubs, water aerobics, playing the slots at casinos and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her younger sister Elizabeth "Dottie" Odegard of Anderson, California, her youngest brother George Beaudoin of Temple Terrace Florida, youngest sister Bertha Dozark, of Anchorage, Alaska, sisters-in-law Margie Beaudoin, of Portland, Oregon and Carol Beaudoin, formerly of San Francisco and grandchildren Erin Arbogast, David Arbogast and Amy Cocotis, Joe Roeschen and Mike Roeschen, and great grandchildren Micaela Bruner, Timothy Arbogast, Reid Arbogast, Josie Cocotis and Jeaneva Cocotis, as well as her former sons-in-law Frederick Arbogast and Richard Nielsen and his children Stephen, John, Thomas, and Daria, and former daughter-in-law Renee Bradley, and by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives, as well as countless dear friends.
Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Redwood Chapel, Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Rd, Lafayette, CA 94549. Visitation will immediately follow the service. Inurnment and delivery to her final resting place alongside her husband and daughter in the Tranquility Mausoleum at Oakmont Memorial Park at a future date to be determined. date to be determined.
