Joy Constantine, age 82 of Rossmoor Walnut Creek, passed way Monday, March 26, 2021 in her home. Joy had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year, since her diagnosis Joy battled courageously with such determination , grace and dignity until she lost her fight. Even through it all, she always had such care and concern for others.
Joy is survived by her children Penny, Debra, Joy (Jake), Ken, Joseph, Lori (Dan), Gary, and Neal, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Joy was raised in San Francisco, and liver and worked in the banking industry in the bay area until retiring with her husband Jim Constantine ( deceased) in Discovery Bay where she served her community passionately. Joy served two terms as the President of the Discovery Bay Lions Club, and two terms as Treasurer of the Discovery Bay Lions Club. In 2011 Joy moved to Rossmoor Walnut Creek where she joined her beloved Hula Club and served as Governor of the Hawaii State Club in Rossmoor, and represented the Hawaii State Club on the Rossmoor activities committee. Joy gave her time and energy generously to volunteering for many community events. Joy and Jim loved camping at Lake Tahoe and taking cruises to explore new places. Joy loved games, dancing and spending time with her friends and family.
