Kathleen “Kathy” Marie Anders

June 21, 1966 – November 10, 2020

Kathy was raised in Pittsburg, California by her Mother, Aldeen and Father, John Ferrante. Kathy attended all her schooling in Pittsburg, graduating from Pittsburg High School in 1984. Following graduation, she attended Sacramento State University and achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.

Kathy began raising her family in Martinez, beginning with her first daughter Katie, followed by her son, Matthew. Kathy met her husband David Anders, they married in 2000 and welcomed their daughter Emily shortly after.

After working as a real estate agent, Kathy made a career change to education. She spent her 15-year teaching career at Morello Park Elementary, teaching students in the third through fifth grade. She shared her love of history and reading with her students, and enjoyed planning school events.

In her free time, Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family camping, attending and watching the 49ers, Warriors and Giants games, and wine tasting. Her best days were spent riding in her Jeep, relaxing on the beach with her dog, Daisy.

Kathy is survived by her husband David; daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Taylor Wolter; favorite son, Matthew; daughter, Emily; mother Aldeen Phipps; favorite brother, Dominic; and her pug, Daisy.
