Tribute

IN LOVING MEMORY OF LILIAN MARGOTH POSADA

Lilian Margoth Posada was born November 14, 1935, in Chalchuapa, El Salvador to parents Rafael Antonio Castro and Cecelia Manzanares.  Lilian passed away May 3, 2020 at the age of 84 in Concord, CA.

Lilian married the love of her life, Francisco Roberto Posada on July 22, 1956 and had five wonderful children:  Robert, William, Ana, Jaime and Jimmy.  After being married for eight years, Lilian and Francisco made a difficult decision to immigrate to the United States from El Salvador.  Francisco legally immigrated to the United States in 1964, Lilian in 1966 and their children, Robert, William, Ana and Jimmy in 1969.

From their arrival to the United States, Lilian and Francisco lived in San Francisco.  In 2014, they decided to move closer to their children, so they sold their San Francisco home, where countless memories were created and moved to Contra Costa County.

Lilian loved her family, life and dancing.  She was a kind selfless soul, beloved by all who knew her.  She was always smiling and cherished every opportunity to spend time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Even as life’s end approached, she was always smiling, dancing and sharing stories and wisdom with her family.

Lilian was a devoted wife to Francisco, loving and nurturing mother to children Robert, William, Ana, Jimmy, her 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  She was a hardworking employee of Levi’s Strauss & Company for many years and a steadfast friend to all who knew her.  She was a proud citizen of her country, the United States, and to the end was sharp-witted with current events.  Her sacrifices created a legacy of love and opportunity for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lilian was preceded in death by Francisco in 2014 and their son, Jaime in 1962.  She is survived by children Robert, William, Ana, Jimmy, loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and sisters Elba and Eva.

Lilian/Mama/Abuelita, we love you and will dearly miss you.  The hole in our hearts left by your passing is filled with the love and joy you leave behind.  May you rest in eternal peace and happiness.
