Margaret Ardella Tennant Plaisted

     Margaret Ardella Tennant Plaisted passed away April 11, 2022 at the age of 92.  She was born May 5,1929 in Sacramento, California.  At age seventeen she married Rodney Plaisted of Pittsburg, California and in the coming years gave birth to three children:  Lynda, Marty, and Jamie. 

     She was a diligent hard worker who poured her energy into her home and family.  She worked ten years for the Sacramento Northern Railway, serving as the last agent assigned to the Walnut Creek depot.  She was a majorette for a few years with the Pittsburg City Band and marched in parades all over Northern California.  Through the years she enjoyed many hobbies and activities.  She grew roses beyond compare in the gardens of her beautiful Concord home, providing the backdrop for her husband Rod’s passion—his outdoor railroad that winds on its own rails through their front and back yards.  Margaret was an artist and loved to work in oils.  She enjoyed cooking and sewing, knitting and crocheting.  She was an avid reader.  Traveling and trip planning were among her favorite activities.  She also loved music, singing and playing her piano.

     A strong-willed, self reliant, devoted wife and mother, she gave abundantly of her time and abilities to many a wayward loved one or friend in need.  She provided guidance, encouragement and help along the way.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

     She is survived by her husband Rodney Ronald Plaisted of Concord; sister Ina Kinadeter of Pittsburg, daughter Lynda Minor (& husband Doug) of Discovery Bay, son Martin Plaisted (& wife Vicki) of Benicia; daughter Jamie Webb (& husband Steve) of Coarse Gold, grandchildren  Douglas Minor (& wife Shelly) of Bethel Island, Shawna Hehr (& husband Scott) of Indiana, Michelle Chinea (& husband Dillon) of Benicia, William Johnson (& fiancée Christina) of Concord, Lauren Johnson of Concord, Sean Plaisted (& wife Sylvia) of Denmark, and Zachery Johnson (& wife Asia) of Coarse Gold; and twelve great grandchildren:  Douglass, Raquel (& husband Steven), Jacob, Mitchell, Sofia, Alyssa, Adison, Alton, Nora, Macie, Makenna, and Blake;  and one great, great grandson:  Eliot.

     A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
