Maura S. Atherton

Maura S. Atherton, Born November 30, 1926 in San Mateo, Philippines to her parents Inocencio and Felisa San Andres. She died Saturday November 21, 2020 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Beloved wife of the late Dwain Atherton, devoted sister of the late Constancio, Emiliana, Felix, Turiano, Aurora and Cresencio; also loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Maura was a dedicated teacher in her country, San Mateo Rizal, Philippines.    She received her Master of Arts from University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada in 1969, Masters of Education from University of the Philippines in 1965, and in 1961 Bachelor of Science in Education from Cebu Normal College (Philippine Normal College).    

  Devout Catholic and long time parishioner at Christ the King Parish in Pleasant Hill, CA. She spent nearly 40 years in her beloved home in Walnut Creek, CA.
