Dr. Mustafa H. Adatepe, M.D., age 89, passed away on November 18, 2020 at his home in Walnut Creek, CA surrounded by his loving, close-knit family. Dr. Adatepe was born in Ankara, Turkey, where he grew up and graduated from medical school. After immigrating to the U.S. in the early 1960's, and becoming a proud naturalized U.S. citizen, he decided to specialize in Nuclear Medicine. Throughout his career he was involved in various research projects and helped to author several scholarly articles which appeared in leading medical journals. He eventually became the Chief of Nuclear Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, where he worked for many years. He was married to the late Munure M. Adatepe for 42 wonderful years until her passing in 2000. Together they had four sons, Edward, Ahmet (wife Gonca), Alparslan and Galip (wife Emine) who survive their beloved father. Dr. Adatepe is also survived by three adoring grandchildren, Alicia Garcia (husband Bikelby), Cem and Melisa Adatepe and two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Mateo Garcia, all of whom he was very proud of and who brought great joy to his life. He was the eldest among five children in his family and is survived by two loving sisters, Sati and Semra, a brother, Halit, his cousin, Yildirim, who was his best friend while growing up and several nieces and nephews among other relatives.

Dr. Adatepe was a caring, thoughtful man who touched many peoples' lives. He was a kind, generous person who was devoted to his family. He was also very dedicated to his profession and was often on call, ready to render assistance to his patients at all hours of the day and night. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be buried at Oakmont Memorial Park and Mortuary on Tuesday,  November 24th, 2020 in a private graveside service.
