Nancy P. Vereeke

Nancy Prideaux Vereeke - known affectionately as Nan to her devoted husband, David Vereeke, and Nanny to her adoring family - passed away surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. She was a rare and incomparable beauty, and a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister.

Nancy Carole Prideaux was born to Boyd and Mildred Prideaux on August 13, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri. She cherished her five children - Michael, Linda (Kim), Diane, David, and Robin – and adored her 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She loved her career as a medical transcriptionist until she retired to travel the world.

Nancy had an adventurous spirit; she enjoyed traveling abroad and hiking with her family. Her grandchildren have fond memories of hours spent in the kitchen, baking pies and other treats. She was an enthusiastic tennis player and often participated in doubles tournaments with her friends. Her home is adorned with vibrant landscapes and heartwarming scenes she painted in her free time. She was a discreet canasta master and an expert blue china collector.

Though she will be missed immeasurably, her light will live on in all who knew her. She will be laid to rest at Oakmont Mortuary in Lafayette, California with a private family service.
