Tribute

Norman Jack Inkster from Pleasant Hill passed away peacefully Saturday July 2, 2022, at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek.

Norman was born in December 1930 to the late Myrtle and Jack Inkster.

He met his wife Adele while stationed in the army on Oahu. They attended high school together but didn’t connect until they met in Hawaii. They married on July 2, 1960 and settled down in Pleasant Hill.

Norm grew up in Berkeley and attended California State University San Francisco. During his working years he returned to school getting his MBA from Golden Gate University.

In retirement, he spent much of his time volunteering at Hillcrest Congregational Church. He helped organize and run their food and clothing rooms for those less fortunate. He truly enjoyed making a difference in people’s lives.

Norm is survived by his wife of 62 years, his children, Richard, Debbie, and grandchildren, Brock, Brandon, and Hunter. He was a quiet and gentle soul who found so much joy in making others happy, especially his family. He will be missed dearly.

A celebration will be held on the 20th of August at Hillcrest Congregation Church. Please contact the church for more details.

In honor of Norman, donations can be made to Hillcrest Congregational Church.
