Robert Emerson Fuerst

Robert Emerson Fuerst 92 of Walnut Creek, CA, passed away early Monday morning July 5th in Alamo, CA.

Bob as his friends and family knew him was born on July 19 th, 1928, to Robert and Elise Fuerst in Fresno California.

He was married on September 20, 1952 to Shirley Jean Miller in Richmond, CA. Bob and Shirley were long- time residents of Walnut Creek.

After a series of jobs Bob found his true passion in the Fire Department. He served as a Firefighter in the Contra Costa Fire Protection Department for 30 years. Bob took great pride in being a Firefighter, and in particular keeping the engine clean and ready for use.

Bob and Shirley spent several years after retirement building a home in Magalia, CA., but later returned to reside again in Walnut Creek.

Bob is survived by his wife of 69 years Shirley, daughters Cheryl and Nancy, grand children Sean and Shyann, and son in-laws Anthony and Brian.

Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Walter and Franklin Fuerst.
