 Shelley Ingraham Brooks passed away October 15, 2021 in Alamo, California with her daughters and husband by her side after a 6 month battle with cancer. Shelley was born on October 11, 1953 in Oakland, California to Florence and Kenneth Ingraham, the youngest child of four and only daughter. Her family moved to New Jersey when Shelley was a child, and returned to Lafayette after ten years. Shelley enrolled at Del Valle High School, where she made many life long friends. After graduation, Shelley prospered in several jobs, working for the Lesher Newspaper Group, the Pillsbury Company and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Ultimately she decided to become self employed, starting Paws-itively Pets Professional Sitting Service in Brentwood, California. During the 17 years of operation, Shelley made many human and animal friends. She was very proud that her business was named Best of Brentwood for many years running. However, her finest accomplishment and greatest joy was being a mother to her twins Kelsey and Lindsey. No matter how busy Shelley was, she would always make being their Mom her highest priority. They recently gave her two grandchildren, Evelyn and Grayson, who she absolutely adored and loved to spend her time with. Very late in life, Shelley met and married the love of her life, Allen Brooks. Their time together was far too short but so incredibly happy. Surviving are her husband, Allen Brooks; twin daughters, Kelsey Lucia and Lindsey Sowko; step-daughters, Kristy Downs, Sinead Brooks-Schaefer and Aine Brooks; brothers, Kenneth Ingraham, William Ingraham, and Gary Ingraham; five adored grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her friends and family remember her for being strong, loving, and kind-hearted. She will be greatly missed by all and never forgotten. Her beloved dogs Casey and Macey will be happy to see her again. A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday November 6th at 1:30 PM at the Lafayette Christian Church, 584 Glenside Drive, Lafayette California for all family and friends to remember and celebrate her. The family asks for donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers
