WAYNE EDWARD FONG

Wayne Fong , 66, died January 8, 2022 at a hospital in Concord, CA. He was born October 7, 1955 in Oakland, CA, the son of Edgar and Lillian (Chin) Fong.  During his lifetime, Wayne resided in Oakland, Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Concord and Pittsburgh. 

Wayne graduated from Pleasant Hill High School, Class of 1974, where he excelled in math and competed on the cross-country team. He earned an associates degree from Diablo Valley College, and completed coursework at UC Berkeley. For many years, Wayne attended the Chinese Community United Methodist Church in Oakland.

Wayne enjoyed spending time with his friends and family; eating Chinese food and  at other favorite fast food restaurants; shopping at Target; watching sports and Big Bang Theory; and listening to pop music on his CD player-especially his favorite band Chicago whom he saw perform live at Concord Pavilion every year.  

Wayne sported an easygoing smile, laugh, sense of humor that was contagious to those around him. He lived with a zest for life, a desire to connect and interact with people, and faith in God.  Wayne was a very loyal son, brother, cousin and friend.   

Wayne was predeceased by his brother Stuart, and his mother Lillian.  He is survived by his father Edgar of Pleasant Hill; sister Corinne of Novato; brother Craig of Naperville, IL; sister Nancy of Bishop; and numerous cousins, uncles, aunts, nephews and niece.
