Remembrance of Yueh O Wang Born in 1936 in Tokyo, Yueh O Wang was the second of six children to Shio-Chau Chang Cheng and Jee-Jeng Cheng. The family moved to Taipei, Taiwan, after her parents finished law school and pharmacy school in Japan. She attended Taiwan National Normal University in Taipei and completed a degree in home economics. After graduation, she taught Home Economics at her Alma Mater, Taichung Girls High School. She married Wun-Cheng Wang, and they had two children, Phil and Mimi while in Taiwan. Prior to Mimi’s birth, Wun-Cheng left Taiwan to complete a Ph.D. in Water Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin, while Yueh O raised Phil and Mimi and taught Home Economics in Taichung. After three years, Yueh O and her two small children immigrated to the US to join her husband in Madison, Wisconsin. They moved to Peoria, Illinois, and they soon afterward had their youngest son, Spencer. Wun-Cheng and Yueh O moved from Peoria, Illinois to Iowa City, Iowa to Columbia, South Carolina, and finally to San Ramon, California. Wherever she lived, Yueh O was a devoted wife and mother that exuded warmth, generosity, and kindness. She loved her family, and her nine grandchildren were a great joy for her. This last year of her life was difficult with several medical issues, including undergoing chemotherapy for myeloma. Despite the struggles, she did not complain about the difficulties. While recovering from surgery, she died peacefully the next morning to join her older son, Phil, in heaven. Yueh O will be greatly missed by her four brothers, husband, daughter, son, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, and nine grandchildren
